She received a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University in Cambridge, a Doctoral degree in the field of Christian Counseling from Liberty University and is currently enrolled in a program to become a Spiritual Director.

Kintsugi Class

Registration is closed

Kintsugi is a Japanese art form where an everyday vessel (plate or cup) gets broken, and instead of throwing it away it’s repaired with gold. Since it’s repaired with gold, the value of the object increases, even though it was broken. Dr. Jones uses this art form as a way to be contemplative with God. Our Kintsugi class will be a guided individual activity and a time of reflection led by Dr. Jones Saturday morning. It will include time to reflect on our brokenness and the different “hammers” in our lives. As well as, a time to reflect on how Jesus is able to, and has, healed us. If you decide to register for this class we will provide the plates/cups and other supplies for the activity. You also will most likely need to come back to finish your Kintsugi throughout the day Saturday.

Here is a list of what we will be using for our Kintsugi so you know what to expect: Small porcelain or ceramic (not clay or glass) bowls/cups/vases/dishes. (will be provided, but feel free to bring your own). hammer Pieces of cloth large enough to cover the vessel while being hammered and to hold the pieces between steps. Epoxy/ceramic glue to glue dish pieces together (ie. Gorilla 5-minute epoxy) Disposable gloves to protect hands from glue Painters tape Thin/fine tip paint brushes Liquid gold leaf (metallic paint) Popsicle sticks Xacto knife Q-tips Rubbing alcohol
